Military Science

The Spanish Springs Cougar Battalion has been active for all 18 years that the school has been open. In those 18 years, we have accomplished tremendous things for our community, school, and cadets. We are led by three instructors: Lieutenant Colonel Wales, Sergeant First Class Mendenhall, and Master Sergeant Baumgarten. We have received the coveted Honor Unit with Distinction every year since our program's start. The Battalion cares deeply about doing events outside of school hours with our cadets. We are a serious competitor in the Washoe County School District in both Drill and Rifle. Our Drill team has been to nationals three times. Through the various accomplishments of both our special teams and the cadets, we hope to carry on the tradition of excellence.
